Block Printing Workshop
Experience the ancient art of block printing!
Block Printing is one of the oldest types of printmaking, there’s evidence that it began as early as the fifth century BC. Because it’s been around so long, here are many different techniques of block printing but it comes down to using a carved material covered in ink to transfer an image on to paper or fabric.
Learn what tools you need and how to use them to create custom carvings and how to print to customize a tote bag. We will be using fabric quality ink at this workshop so you can use and wash your finished projects and they’ll be sure to last!
Why we love this workshop:
You can use your carving block over and over! Block printing is also a great way to make something that is truly handmade but easily replicated. Use your carved block to print a tote bag at our workshop, print a card next week, decorate some curtains next month, it has endless uses!
